Position Type: Full-Time Duties and Responsibilities: Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation. • Communicates and informs direct leader of issues, status, and results of assigned tasks. • Identifies legal issues and recommends responsive action, as appropriate. • Recommends process improvements for area of responsibility. • Oversees a wide range of commercial contracts, including supply agreements, international distribution agreements, license agreements, service and equipment agreements, marketing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other general business contracts.   • Serves as a liaison for the Buying Department, including creating and reviewing related agreements; works strategically to provide guidance.  • Evaluates and analyzes legal cases then reports findings to direct leader; researches unique legal issues impacting the organization by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes. • Performs pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights, at the instruction of direct leader. • Assists in analyzing current company procedures to identify best practices. • Interacts with various internal and external parties involved in the legal process. • Assists with preparation and analysis of data to identify exposures and risks. • Supports strategies for reducing costs and transferring risk. • Provides proactive analysis of current projects and analytical review of reported results. • Performs special projects as requested. • Drafts, reviews, and negotiates agreements. • Drafts memorandums, attorney correspondence, reports, and other pleadings as requested. • Engages with ALDI business and external suppliers, and internal/external counsel regarding contract terms. • Conducts legal research and responds to legal inquiries from multiple areas of the business. • Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to leadership. • Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility. • Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: • Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies or a related field. • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a law firm or corporate legal department. • A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. • J.D. required. • Overall broad legal knowledge of contract law, litigation, and commercial disputes. Job Qualifications: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities • Knowledge of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, international distribution agreements, license agreements, service and equipment agreements, marketing agreements, spokesperson agreements, real estate leases, and non-disclosure agreements. • Knowledge of United States employment law and ability to assist in defending the company against employment-related industry charges. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to analyze and present complex data. • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures. • Knowledge and understanding of a variety of contract documents, including: NDAs, master services agreements, statements of work, letters of intent, and contract amendments. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Gives attention to detail and follows instructions. • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. • Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner. • Develops and maintains positive relationships with internal and external parties. • Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices. • Ability to think critically, solve problems, plan and organize work flow, and embrace new challenges. • Ability to apply creative solutions. • Skill in reviewing files to determine accuracy and completeness. • Maintains professional skills through research, continuing education, and training. Develop relationships with Human Resource Managers and key business partners to influence decision-making on potential learning intervention opportunities Understand and respect the cultures of individual business partner organizations to ensure client satisfaction while fostering superior learning engagement   Position Requirements We expect you to have: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training and Development, Human Resources, or related field preferred Minimum 6 years of progressive Learning and Development experience in a corporate, government, or higher education environment Self-driven mindset with the ability to receive general objectives and operate with a high level of independence Demonstrated project and vendor management skills in a professional environment Proven experience delivering learning solutions in both classroom and virtual environments Strong consultative skills and experience working with and influencing business partners in the determination of learning needs and opportunities Ability to plan and prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and act with the flexibility and initiative to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly-changing environment Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills; ability to tailor solutions and communication style to diverse audiences and to present complex information in a clear and understandable manner Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Office applications; experience with instructional design software, video editing, and audio editing a plus; willingness and enthusiasm to learn and implement new technologies quickly and independently.
